Frank Montelongo was born October 6, 1924 to Daniel and Della (Valencia) Montelongo in Burbank, California. He passed away Wednesday, October 1st 2008 in Torrance at the age of 83. He served in WWII as a Merchant Marine. He had a great love of travel and never lost his love of the sea. A 45 year resident of Hermosa Beach, he started Montelongo Plastering and continued working until earlier this year. He was highly respected for the quality of his work. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Joanne, brother Daniel, sister Della, sons Frank Jr. (Margo), Daniel (Yoni), Michael (Nitza), Christopher (Shelly), Terance (Elizabeth), daughter Stephanie Komae (Glenn), 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed. We take comfort that he is in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 5th, from 2 until 8 pm at Green Hills Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on his 84th birthday - Monday, October 6th at 10:00 am – St. James Catholic Church 415 Vincent Street, Redondo Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Frank Montelongo to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.
